If you asked a random person what they thought the largest online retailer in the world is, they’re likely to say Amazon. They might even mention Ebay. Both are great guesses, too. However, there is actually a company that’s as big as both of those giants combined: Alibaba.
But what is Alibaba?
Founded in 1999 by an English teacher named Jack Ma, China’s Alibaba is a massive international business with many different arms.
Like its U.S. counterpart, Amazon, Alibaba dabbles in a little bit of everything. Ecommerce, banking, technology, and cloud computing are just a few of the functions of Alibaba.
