Alibaba’s 24 hour retail festival, also known as 11:11, blitzed the sales total from 2017 by 10am.
With less than 10 hours to go, Singles’ Day was also on track to surpass last year’s record breaking US$30b ($47.3b) of sales.
So far, New Zealand was the 10th most popular country in terms of cross border sales on the Alibaba platform, just behind Canada and Italy.
